Curriculum

Emmanuel Curriculum Vision Statement
Our vision is to be a faith and education community in which young people can come to fully realize their potential to be people of integrity and justice, made in the likeness of God, for the good of our world.

Our mission is to:
  • nurture teaching and learning in a supportive and stimulating environment to promote lifelong learning
  • show our students that they can make a difference in the world by developing a Christian awareness of social justice by responding to community needs
  • developing the human potential of our students holistically through value-based curriculum programs

The Curriculum Vision is drawn from the School Vision and Mission Statements following and link with the Diocesan Curriculum Framework through the values inherent in the Belief Statements and the Capabilities needed for success in the 21st Century and beyond.

Curriculum Organisation
Emmanuel supports both discrete and integrated learning within environments that are designed to best suit learner needs. Integration is employed to create rich contexts where learning areas are naturally aligned and where these learning areas are able to maintain their original integrity. Curriculum is developed predominantly through inquiry models and connected routines. Teachers and students use Information Communication Technology (ICT) to effectively enhance the teaching and learning cycle. We see the availability and delivery of good curriculum in our school as a most important responsibility. The Assistant to the Principal Curriculum (APC) Mrs Janine Refalo is a member of the Leadership Team working with school staff members to continually improve and upgrade curriculum content and practices in our school. Our Curriculum begins in Prep and progresses developmentally through the year levels to Year 6.
